The organization is lead by two outstanding full time leaders who serve as Executive Directors:


Sanja Poitras serves as an Executive Director of Help on Wheels and is responsible for all aspects of financial, operational and management controls.    A Chartered Accountant, Sanja brings more than 30 years of financial and business acumen to her position.  She  has worked with accounting firms including Grant Thornton LLP, Wolrige Mahon, and Ernst and Young, where she gained exposure to a broad cross section of companies and industries including not for profit enterprises and charitable organizations. She has CFO experience with international financial investment, catering, event management, publishing, medical services, several real estate development projects as well as a leading manufacturing company. Sanja’s ability to evaluate, create and manage growth is further enhanced by her own experience as an entrepreneur.  Sanja specializes in Canadian Income Tax, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, and is fluent in four languages (Serbian, German, French and English).

MARC POITRAS – Executive Director

Marc took on responsibilities for Help On Wheels operations, following two decades of senior level  management and consulting with corporations and clients around the world. As a senior partner with Twelve2 Communications, he was a leader in the strategy practice and worked with a wide range of firms on strategy development, business model transformation, designing business processes and solving strategic business problems and operational issues. He is especially skilled in dealing with the unique and varied requirements of emerging companies and not for profits.  His experience includes extensive work in private equity, payment cards and systems, loyalty, advertising, technology driven companies and not for profits. Marc is a graduate of the Polytechnic British Columbia Institute of Technology.

The life blood of the organization is the over 180 volunteers who serve daily at the operations center and at mobile events. Corporations and other organization also play a key role.
